The rise of women´s sports in recent years has been both impressive and inspiring, and Elitfotboll Dam (EFD) is proud to be a part of this movement. Through its partnership with All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN), OBOS Damallsvenskan is reaching a global audience, creating new opportunities for Swedish women's soccer to gain international visibility.

The agreement with AWSN, signed last year and running through the 2024, 2025, and 2026 seasons, ensures that OBOS Damallsvenskan matches can be viewed in 38 countries outside the Nordic region, including key markets like the U.S., Japan, India, and South Korea.

AWSN, a newly launched digital hub founded with support from iconic actress and entrepreneur Whoopi Goldberg, has a clear mission: to make women’s sports more accessible and to elevate its presence worldwide. Goldberg;s commitment to the project has been evident in her appearances on major U.S. media platforms like The

Tonight Show and The View, where she has amplified AWSN’s vision of accessibility and representation.

– This partnership with AWSN is incredibly exciting. It highlights the growing international interest in women’s soccer and provides OBOS Damallsvenskan with a platform to reach new fans worldwide. It’s an important step in our mission to increase visibility for Swedish women's soccer, showcasing the passion and talent of our players to a broader audience and inspiring more girls to get involved in the sport, says Siri Frimodig, Head of Marketing at Elitfotboll Dam.

George Chung, CEO and Co-Founder of AWSN, emphasized their shared commitment:

– We are incredibly proud to partner with OBOS Damallsvenskan, the pinnacle of excellence in Swedish soccer. This partnership ensures global visibility while bringing the passion of the game to our worldwide audience and dedicated fans in the United States. Together, we aim to inspire the next generation of players, celebrate the rich heritage of soccer, and strengthen the global soccer community through shared values and unparalleled commitment to the sport.

The agreement grants AWSN non-exclusive rights to broadcast OBOS Damallsvenskan matches in countries like the U.S, Japan, India, South Korea, and several regions across Africa and the Middle East. This complements the league’s already strong presence in the Nordics, the Netherlands, and Mexico. The partnership is the result of strategic efforts by Elitfotboll Dam’s media advisors, Two Circles (formerly Spring Media), who have played a pivotal role in expanding the league’s international reach.

AWSN’s commitment to amplifying women’s representation in sports aligns seamlessly with Elitfotboll Dam’s mission to foster equality and inclusion at all levels of soccer. For both AWSN and EFD, this collaboration is about more than broadcasting match highlights — it’s about creating lasting visibility and new opportunities for women’s sports.

– We share AWSN’s vision of elevating women in sports. It’s about creating opportunities, visibility, and inspiration—not only for the players but also for future generations. Having a global partner who shares this ambition is both important and rewarding, Frimodig concludes.
